Theme 2: Information-Based Mixed-Signal Interfaces

Objective

The Information-based Mixed-signal Interfaces (I²) theme will employ the principle of information invariance pervasively in systems, architectures, and circuits in order to make the discipline of mixed-signal circuit and system design compatible with the statistical realities of the beyond-CMOS era. Through a focus on information-centric signal processing, we expect to demonstrate substantial improvements in energy efficiency as well as levels of resilience to circuit fabric errors that are unattainable in conventional realizations.
