SONIC Year 5 Annual Review Meeting Student Research Award Winners

Congratulations to the following SONIC Year 5 Annual Review Meeting Student Research Award Winners!

The winners of the Claude Shannon Student Research Award for Excellence in Systems Research is Ali Moin, Abbas Rahimi, and Jonathan Ting with SONIC faculty Ana Arias and Jan Rabaey on their project entitled “High-Density Flexible EMG-based Gesture Recognition Wearable Device Using Hyper-Dimensional Computing”.

The winners of the John von Neumann Student Research Award for Excellence in Architecture Research is Lita Yang and Danny Bankman, with SONIC faculty Boris Murmann on their project entitled “An Energy-Efficient, Mixed-Signal Binarized Neural Network ASIC in 28nm CMOS”.

The winner of the John Bardeen Student Research Award for Excellence in Nanodevices Research is Okan Koksal with SONIC faculty Kaustav Banerjee and Farhan Rana on their project entitled “Nanoscale Graphene Plasmonic Interconnects”.
